Stripe payment flow between a FastAPI backend (creating PaymentIntents) and a Vue frontend (confirming using the PaymentIntent ID) is causing issues during the payment process on the frontend.

the frontend fails when calling stripe.confirmPayment with a specific error about setup_future_usage — using the ExpressCheckoutElement for Google Pay and Apple Pay.
