WebSocket connections fail when TLS termination or proxy routing breaks upgrade semantics (CORS policy, Upgrade/Connection hop-by-hop headers, or TLS verification). The handshake gets rejected before the app’s WebSocket endpoint can initialize, even though REST may work.
