In sim/mn10300/interp.c, mn10300_option_handler handles the --board option by allocating board = zalloc(strlen(arg)+1) and then calling strcpy(board,arg) without checking for allocation failure or guarding against size_t overflow in strlen(arg)+1.

Located function mn10300_option_handler in sim/mn10300/interp.c. The code path is reachable from simulator option parsing. If strlen(arg)+1 overflows, the allocation may be too small; if zalloc returns NULL, strcpy dereferences NULL (crash).

// solution

Before allocation, validate length: compute len = strnlen(arg, MAX) and ensure len+1 does not overflow size_t. After zalloc, check board != NULL before copying. If allocation fails, return an error code to the caller.
